Some of you know the story of my little coffee cup. It came into my possession six years ago, while I was walking in darkness.

I didn’t choose this cup because I liked the scripture. Honestly, I had it for several years before I even noticed it was there. And I didn’t choose it because I like Woodrow Wilson. I only grabbed it because it seemed rude to kill time in a thrift shop and then leave empty-handed. I do love coffee, and I liked the font.
I didn’t choose the cup; it chose me.
Just like I didn’t choose God, He chose me.
This little cup is an anchor piece in my spiritual echoes collection. In His infinite greatness and sovereignty, God often cements my confidence that this is the path He has ordained for me. It’s a confidence I need when I intend to come against the dragon in the name of the Lord who is devouring our children and taking women captive in a pit of shame and grief.
As I walked through the halls of the Capitol in Washington DC, I was allowed to peek into the prayer chapel next to the Speaker’s balcony. I knew I wouldn’t have time to scan the Bibles lying on the altar, so I snapped a quick picture, intending to zoom in later and read. Later when I scanned over the picture, I found the very first scripture is the same one on the back of my cup, Philippians 1:4-6

On the day that I was supposed to return home, my flight was delayed more than half a dozen times, and near midnight, it was pushed to the next day. The airline issued a hotel voucher, and I was inconveniently routed to a nearby resort. It was a veritable palace. As I checked out the next morning, my eyes drifted to the archway I’d passed under the night before, too exhausted to notice. There was the name in large ornate letters…Woodrow Wilson.

This kind of story gives me the confidence to say, I am the servant of the Lord, and He is for Life. To take these verses with me and know they are strong enough to stand on as I come against the enemy of life, the one who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.
Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
Matthew 10:16
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 10:19
If you are confused about where God stands on the issue of abortion…He is for Life. Period. If you are a Christian that champions choice, neglects to consider the pre-born, and defends abortion..then you are protecting the works of satan. I would refer you to Matthew 6:22-23
The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Your spiritual perception is off, your eye is bad, and your whole body is full of darkness. And how great is that darkness? Commit this to prayer. The Lord is able to speak for Himself. If you ask Him, He’ll tell you how He feels.
